The hock is a frequent area of injury. The collateral ligaments of the hock can be injured following a trauma or a fall . What are they? How do you treat a ruptured ligament?

Horses are prone to gastric ulcers. Although the symptoms can be vague sometimes, gastric ulcers can decrease the comfort in foals and adult horses and can cause poor performance. Research shows that even horses without obvious symptoms can have a mild degree of gastric ulcers. Especially horses that are in (heavy) training are susceptible to this condition.

We regularly see horses with guttural pouch mycosis reffered to the clinic from all over Belgium, France, the Netherlands or other countries, after an episode of excessive nose bleeds.

The intradermal allergy test

The intradermal test is the golden standard for horses with allergies. It can detect and quantify sensitivities of your horse for certain allergens (pollen of herbs, trees, plants, flowers, insect extracts, mites, molds or animals).
